Seventeen years after our founding, we at the Pilgrim PRU are excited to be announcing a new phase in our journey to delivering excellence in hospital and SEND education to all children and young people of Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and neighbouring counties.
Since we were founded in 2004, we have been operating under the Pilgrim PRU. Although that name has served us well, it no longer quite captures who we are and what we do. In December 2020, our Management Committee, with consultation from a wide range of stakeholders including children and parents, voted to change our name to Pilgrim Pathways School. Our new name will be in effect from 1st April 2021. The change also gives us the opportunity to have a fresh look at the education and support we deliver and be ambitious in our vision for the future.
Whilst we remain committed to education excellence for all, our guiding vision, strategy and programmes have all evolved considerably over the past two decades and therefore it was important to us that our name reflects this. As part of this change, we have also undergone a complete rebrand and are excited to launch our new website on 1st of April 2021 – www.pilgrim.cambs.sch.uk .
Our centres continue to be the cornerstone of our work, and our relationships with yourselves and other professional bodies continue to support the leadership efforts to improve educational outcomes for all. Our new name also gives us the opportunity to enhance and build on our current whole-school offer, whilst capturing the bespoke needs of each young person. We look forward to sharing these with you over the coming months and welcome any ideas you may have to enhance our service offer.
We are very much looking forward to this new chapter in our continuing growth and evolution, and hope you’ll join us in celebrating this exciting milestone.
From everyone at Pilgrim Pathways School, we hope you have a wonderful Easter.
Warm regards,
Leah Miller
