Careers

Informed by the Gatsby Benchmarks, the careers programme is delivered in school time across all key stages. We focus on skills shortages, work skills and different routes into training and through education. Students in KS3 are supported in making their GCSE options choices, at KS4 with college applications and KS5 with applications for work and college. We facilitate attendance at Open Days, visits from professionals to talk about their careers and work experience.

We also work with outside agencies and local providers such as the Enterprise Advisor at Addenbrookes to plan an NHS Careers Day, an employability skills day with a focus on mental health and neurodiversity and work experience opportunities. We also work with a local arts venue on a Virtual Work Experience which is available to young people all year round.

For sixth-formers at risk of NEET, we work closely with the social worker on the ward to support students into appropriate work placements and further training.
