Holding the Hope for children and young people (CYP) with complex physical and mental health needs.
To enable CYP with complex physical or mental health needs to access purposeful and ambitious education or training while undergoing treatment in hospital, other medical facilities, or at home.
For every CYP leaving our school to be able to function as normally as possible in full-time mainstream education, training or employment.
Drive our pursuit of educational and personal excellence but also harness the nurturing support our pupils may need along the way:
All CYP need and deserve to be engaged in purposeful and ambitious education or training.
1. CYP in our care deserve support at the earliest opportunity to stay engaged (or re-engage) with education during their treatment in hospital, other medical facilities, or at home.
2. CYP in our care deserve support to rapidly reintegrate with education or training following time in hospital, other medical facilities, or home treatment.
These guiding principles draw on robust evidence that purposeful and ambitious education or training programmes enable CYP to recover faster from mental and physical illnesses.
That evidence also shows that CYP in education or training are less likely to suffer long term mental and physical health issues.
These principles underpin our two integrated specialisms: Educational Engagement and Reintegration
